5 Stars - Raymond Chan. What a delightful wine! Soft aromas of plum, sarsaparilla, raspberry, and maybe even a touch of aniseed on the gentle nose. The palate is warm and inviting with lingering flavours of raspberry and chocolate coated cherry. Great balance and fine, velvety texture.

Raymond Chan's Review: 5 stars
Mainly clone 10/5 with 6% 667, sixth crop off the vines, fermented 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 27% new French oak barriques. Deepish ruby-red colour with some purply-garnet hues on edge. This is intensely packed on bouquet with ripe, dark raspberry fruit aromas along with dark plum and floral notes. The nose has clarity of expression and is echoed on the palate. Bright and concentrated raspberry liqueur, plum and liquorice notes show, the flavours quite primary with juiciness. The wine is still tight and concentrated, with fine tannin grip and a firmness of structure providing line and length. Oaking is subtle and fine. The acidity is ample and adds to the fruit lusciousness, balancing the extraction, enabling a long finish. Match with duck, pork and lamb over the next 5-6+ years. 18.5/20 Aug 2011
Our tasting notes
Attractive raspberry and rhubarb on the nose with maybe a hint of dried herbs progress to a slightly smoky savouriness on the palate. This is a feminine style of Pinot, light in colour but certainly not a lightweight!
